Bhubaneswar: The BJP Yuva Morcha on Friday questioned the silence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik over the deteriorating law and order situation in Odisha against the backdrop of the broad daylight killing of a cabinet minister, Naba Das.
“The way health minister Naba Das was killed is highly condemnable and so is the silence of CM, who holds the Home portfolio, over the issue. We will intensify the agitation and burn the effigy of CM Naveen Patnaik in each Assembly constituency during the next three days,” BJP Yuva Morcha President Irashish Acharya said, demanding a CBI probe into the case.
The youth wing of the saffron party also raised its voice against the alleged misbehaviour of a woman cop towards Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra. “Recently, Minister of State (Home), Tusharkanti Behera an explosive statement that police were taking a commission from compensation amount of SC/ST atrocity cases. The entire Odisha Police department has remained a mute spectator,” Acharya added.
