Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Odisha to attend the ‘Maha Jansampark Abhiyan’ of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Dhenkanal on June 17.

This was announced by BJP’s state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan on Saturday. He said Shah is set to visit the state as part of the party’s month-long Maha Jansampark campaign. The Home Minister is likely to address a public meeting during his visit.

With the 2024 elections fast approaching, a battery of BJP stalwarts are all set to hold a number of programmes in Odisha as part of their month-long ‘Maha Jansampark Abhiyan’.

The mass outreach campaign is being held across the country to mark the completion of nine years of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.

Sources said BJP national president J P Nadda is also expected to visit the state on June 22 to take part in ‘Maha Jansampark’ campaign.

The details of the programmes of other leaders will revealed later.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to visit the state soon.

The Odisha unit of the BJP is planning a massive public outreach programme, which would include public rallies by the party’s top leaders such as PM Modi, Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Nadda, to keep the party ready in case the assembly elections, due in May 2024, are advanced.

Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Arjun Munda, and Ashwini Vaishnaw are also scheduled to attend various programmes across the state, a BJP leader said.

Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has addressed Garib Kalyan Samabesh at Kankadahada in Dhenkanal district on June 8 as part of his 4-district visit till Sunday.

The Union ministers and senior BJP leaders will hold press conferences and brief about the achievements of PM Modi since 2014. They will also interact with the media and people of the state and give a presentation based on all the achievements of the BJP-led government at the Centre.

This is part of the month-long pan-India campaign launched on May 31 with an aim to connect with 1,000 notable individuals, who are distinguished by the receipt of civilian awards like Padma awards or the President’s medals during their service, from each Lok Sabha constituency. Over 51 huge rallies, public meetings at more than 500 places, and over 600 press conferences in over 500 Lok Sabha and 4000 Assembly constituencies will be conducted till June 30 and over 5 lakh distinguished families will be contacted, BJP sources said.
