Bhubaneswar: Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) has appointed Dr B K Mishra as the company’s Non-Executive Chairman.
Dr Mishra, Metallurgical engineer from NIT Rourkela with a PhD from University of Utah, United States, taught at IIT-Kanpur and served in other eminent posts in academia. He was appointed Founding Director of IIT-Goa before joining the Board as an Independent Director in March 2024.
Dr Mishra has received several awards for his contribution in the field of metallurgy, material science, and industrial R&D. Among his awards is the prestigious IEEE IAS Global Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Academics, Research and Society.

Dr Mishra’s appointment as Non-Executive Chairman of IMFA, the country’s leading producer of ferro alloys, follows the completion of Padma Shri N R Mohanty’s term.
Mohanty, who served as Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, joined the Board as an Independent Director in 2005 and was appointed Non-Executive Chairman in July, 2021.
