New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday informed that it has allocated 19,420 additional vials of Amphotericin-B, the key drug to treat black fungus, across the country.
The additional vials were allocated to all the states, union territories and central institutions on Monday, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda announced.
Earlier on May 21, the Centre had allocated 23,680 vials of Amphotericin-B across the country, a ministry release said.
Of the 19,420 additional vials allocated on Monday, Odisha will get 50.
Gujarat will receive the most number of vials (4640), followed by Maharashtra (4060) and Karnataka (4030).
The central institutions will receive 900 vials.
Notably, many cases of black fungus infection in COVID-cured patients have been reported in several parts of the country.
