Mumbai: Following the brutal murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, BJP MP Harnath Singh advised good friend of the politician, actor Salman Khan, to apologise to the Bishnoi community and end this feud.

Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, on whose hit list is Salman Khan, claimed responsibility for the murder.

The gang publicly declared that they are not going to spare anyone who will help Salman, as the actor has been on their hit list for allegedly killing blackbuck, that is considered scared by the Bishnoi community.

Even as the Mumbai police has beefed up security for Salman, MP Harnath Singh advised the actor to apologise and repent for hurting the sentiments of Bishnoi community by hunting down a blackbuck.

“Some 23-24 years ago, Salman Khan went to Rajasthan for the shooting of a film. He went hunting and killed a blackbuck. The blackbuck is worshipped in the Bishnoi community, and its killing left the community furious,” IANS reported quoting Singh.

“The best way to end this is to repent and apologise. Apologising does not diminish a person’s status; it enhances it,” he added.

On Sunday, Harnath Singh had posted a note for Salman on X which read as: “Dear Salman Khan, the Bishnoi community worships the blackbuck as a deity. You hunted it, cooked it, and ate it. The community has been angry for a long time because of this. My good advice is to apologise and make amends.”

Earlier Attacks On Salman By Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

On April 14, 2024, two motorcycle-borne assailants fired near Salman’s residence. Two suspected shooters Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal were arrested in Gujarat. An investigation in the case led to the arrest of six individuals. Out of the six arrested, one named Anuj Thapan died by suicide in police custody on May 1.

A case has been registered against 17 individuals, including Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently detained at Sabarmati prison in Ahmedabad.

In January 2024, two individuals, hailing from Bishnoi’s village, attempted to trespass at the actor’s Panvel farmhouse.

In March 2023, an email threat was sent to Salman Khan’s employee.

In 2022, Salman’s father Salim Khan found a threatening letter on a bench opposite Galaxy Apartments.

President of the All India Bishnoi Society Devendra Budiya suggested that the Bishnoi community can consider forgiving the actor if he visits their temple and seeks forgiveness for hunting the scared blackbuck.
