Block Chairperson In Odisha’s Malkangiri Faces No-Confidence Motion

Malkangiri: The Chairperson of Korukonda block in Odisha’s Malkangiri district is facing a no-confidence motion. Ten of the 12 panchayat samiti members have presented a notice for no-trust motion against block chairperson Jitu Burudi, sources said on Tuesday.

As per the no-confidence notice submitted to the deputy collector, the members have accused the block chairperson of ignoring government rules and functioning in an arbitrary manner.

The samiti members have alleged that Jitu is not extending them any cooperation in taking forward development works in the area. He has been accused of ignoring the samiti members in the preparation of different plans and programmes for the area.

Apart from functioning in an arbitrary manner without holding any discussion, the block chairperson also misbehaves with the members and others, they alleged.

Stating that they boycotted meetings several times in protest against the style of functioning of the block chairperson, they said Jitu failed to mend ways despite protests.

No reaction was available from Jitu Burudi on the allegations made by the samiti members.
