Phulbani: A block vice-chairman of BJD in Odisha’s Kandhamal district has been arrested by police after a woman filed a complaint alleging that he sexually exploited her on pretext of getting married.
As per the complaint filed at Tikabali police station in the district, the girl and block vice-chairman of G Udaygiri N Luko were in a relationship for the last 2 years. She also loved the BJD leader. After Luko proposed to marry her, she consented and they had physical relationship during the period.
But the girl alleged that Luko started to avoid her and did not talk to her. He also did not respond to her phone calls. When she enquired about him, the girl came to know that Luko’s family had decided to get him married to another girl.
After getting this information, the girl filed the police complaint on Sunday. Acting on the complaint, the police have arrested the BJD leader and both Luko and the girl have been sent for medical examination, said G Udaygiri SDPO D Tirupati Rao.
