Kolkata: Violence marred the fourth phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls with five people being reportedly killed in two incidents in Cooch Behar district on Saturday.
While a first-time voter was shot dead by miscreants at Sitalkuchi in the morning, four people were gunned down by central forces just before noon, allegedly after they were attacked.
Approximately 16.65 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 11 am in Bengal during voting which began at 7 am on Saturday in a total of 44 constituencies.
