Bhubaneswar: To ensure safe and healthy food for players staying at different city-based hotels for the upcoming Asian Athletics Championships (AAC), surprise checks were conducted by enforcement squads of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday here.
The enforcement squads, comprising BMC and food safety officials, carried out simultaneous raids on different hotels and eateries the athletes may visit.
“The inspection teams provided training to staff of 19 city-based hotels about safe food handling practices. They were also asked to comply with the provisions of food safety norms,” a senior official informed.
