Bhubaneswar: Intensifying its drive to check food quality in the state capital, the food safety team of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) carried out raids at several places in the city.
The BMC teams have been working hard to maintain food hygiene and cleanliness in eateries across the capital city. As part of the drive, taids have been conducted in Rudrapur, Hanspal, Jaydev Vihar, and Nayapalli areas.
At several places, the team members destroyed synthetic food colours and stale items. Fines have been levied for unhygienic conditions, and samples have been sent to the labs for analysis, BMC sources said.
Earlier, BMC team had inspected a number of hotels near Gajapti Nagar and Nayapalli areas and destroyed stale food and sent several items for testing. The enforcement team of BMC also imposed penalty on hotels.
