BMC Imposes Fine On Roadside Biryani Stalls In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its fight against the violators of lockdown norms, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday closed down roadside biryani stalls and impose fine on their owners.

On being informed that some roadside shops were selling biryani near Big Bazaar mall, an enforcement team of BMC led by South East Zondal Deputy Commissioner (ZDC) Anshuman Rath rushed to the spot.

The team closed down four temporary shops selling biriyani and collected fine of Rs 3,250.

“Health of the citizens of Bhubaneswar is the top priority of BMC at present. We do not want to create a situation where the people would be made vulnerable. July is a very crucial month, and we appeal to the citizens as well as businessmen to follow BMC SOP seriously,” Rath said.
