Bhubaneswar: Amid COVID-19 second wave and soaring new cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday issued guidelines for the month-long Ramzan in mosques in the Odisha capital.
GUIDELINES:
1. Any kind of congregations/gatherings for the celebration of the festival in public is not allowed within the BMC area.
2. However, religious rituals/Namaz at mosques are allowed with a maximum of 100 participants or 50 per cent capacity of the premises, whichever is less.
3. All the participants, including the mosque officials, have to wear mask properly and ensure 2mtrs social distancing at all times. It will be the responsibility of the Mosque Management Committee to ensure this.
4. The mosque authorities have to make provision for handwashing/hand sanitisation at the entrance of the mosque for use of all. Hand washing facility must be made available with running water as per COVID protocol.
5. Thermal screening should be done at the entry of the mosques and persons having SARI/ILI Like symptoms barred from entering the premises. Persons over 65 years of age and children below 10 years of age are advised not to attend such congregations in view of public safety.
