Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday issued notice to several private hospitals in the city for flouting the COVID-19 protocols.
BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary told the mediapersons that 10 special teams launched a special drive to verify adherence to COVID guidelines by the private hospitals in the city.
The teams comprised personnel from the commissionerate police and officials of BMC, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and the Smart City.
“It was found during the drive that most private hospitals flouted COVID protocols. We have identified those hospitals and issued notice asking them to take necessary steps failing which appropriate action will be initiated against them,” Chaudhary said.
It may be noted that the Blue Wheel Hospital in Mancheswar area, where 27 patients and staff tested positive for coronavirus, was sealed on Wednesday.
