Bhubaneswar: Traffic came to a grinding halt for about an hour on Friday as Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s contract sanitation workers blockaded a busy road near Jaydev Vihar demanding payment of pending salary.
The workers also burnt tyres and raised slogans demanding immediate payment of their salaries.
A police official pulled out his service revolver to disperse the crowd. The situation turned normal after police pacified the mob.
