BMC Seals 3 Shops In Odisha Capital; Know Why

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday sealed two eateries, Wayside Food Park and Kalpana Restaurant along with a store, Moo Easy Supermart, in Odisha capital.

According to sources, the BMC officials inspected the areas this morning as part of its sanitation drive and sealed them after finding poor sanitation practices outside the shops.

BMC also imposed a penalty on the shops for dumping garbage on road. “These will be allowed to open after improving sanitation,” the civic body said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the BMC officials also sealed the Reliance Fresh outlet at Gopabandhu Square and Green Chillyz outlet stating similar reasons.

A penalty of Rs 500 is being imposed on domestic and Rs 5,000 for commercial units found littering.
