Bhubaneswar: After government allowing partial relaxation in operation of shops and markets in the capital city, more cases of violation are coming to the fore with the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) intensifying raids to check violations of COVID norms.
The BMC on Friday ordered closure of VSS Nagar daily market for mass violation of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. The market has been closed till further orders.
The decision was taken after a joint squad by BMC and police on Friday.
The civic body has earlier initiated similar action against several daily markets, including Bapuji Nagar and Uni IV fish market.
