Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will conduct a survey of mobile towers installed on residential and commercial buildings in Odisha capital.
The survey will be carried out to check if the installed mobile towers are adhering to guidelines.
A decision in this regard was also taken at a meeting of the civic body chaired by Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das.
“A ward-wise survey of towers will be done to check if NOCs have been obtained from authorities concerned,” stated TNIE in a report quoting BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange.
An inventory of the towers will also be prepared for reference and action.
Besides, residents converting their property for commercial purposes will need to guarantee parking space. Those not having the required parking space will have to comply with the norms failing which necessary action will be taken.
This apart, a decision was taken to improve 78 parks within BMC jurisdiction under PPP mode for which an SOP will be prepared.
It was also decided to encourage roadside vendors to do business on wheels where parking space is available to reduce encroachment and provide business opportunities to vendors, officials said.
