Bhubaneswar: For the convenience of customers going for purchase in vending zones of the city, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to introduce digital payment system.
The BMC has signed an agreement with the e-commerce company Paytm to facilitate cashless transactions in the vending zones under the municipality. The facility will be launched in 3 months, said BMC sources.
As per the agreement, besides the facility of digital payment, the customers and traders will benefit from a host of incentives. They will be rewarded by the Paytm for minimum 25 transactions every month. The company will also offer loans to the traders who opt for its online payment.
BMC Deputy Commissioner, Pramod Kumar Prusty told the media that they have already sent the list of vendors in the city to Paytm and further processing of the systems is being worked on.
