Bhubaneswar: In order to increase green cover and provide suitable space for physical exercise of local people, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned to construct 50 more mini parks in Odisha capital.
The parks will be constructed under the state government’s flagship programme ‘ukhyamantri Karma Tatapara Abhiyan Yojana (MUKTA Yojana), according to a BMC release.
The community driven initiative will involve Mission Shakti groups. They along with community members will help in planning and implementation activities.
As per provision, work order has been issued to respective engineers. Mission Shakti groups of the area will do the supportive supervision. They will get 7.5% of the budget cost for their involvement.
Each park will be constructed within half an acre land. The budget will vary according to the size of the parks. About Rs 35 to 60 lakh will be spent for each park.
The park will have a boundary wall, guard room, Yoga platform, 100-metre jogging track, 200-metre paved path, urinals, illumination, cement and FRP benches and irrigation system.
For the enjoyment of the children, the parks will have arch swing, sea-saw, spiral ride, while for the adults, there will be provision of gym equipment, push up bar, shoulder exerciser, big shoulder wheel and twister.
