Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday warned the traders against dumping the garbage near their business establishments.
In a notice, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said penalty will be imposed on any trader found dumping the garbage. If necessary, the trade licence will be cancelled and the trading establishment sealed for violating the directive, he added.
He said a special drive will begin to enforce the order in the three zones in the city from December 27.
He further said the municipal officials had held discussion with the shop-keepers and street vendors to keep two types of bins for disposal of dry and wet garbage. As it has failed to yield expected results, strict enforcement will be adopted, he added.
