BMS Launches Mega Tree Plantation Drive In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Voluntary organisation Bhubaneswar Maha Sangathan (BMS),
launched a mega tree plantation drive and awareness programme at
Madhur Mayee
Adarsha Sikshya Niketan near Jharpara Special Jail here on Sunday.

Appealing to the public to participate actively in the drive, senior
leaders of BMS said, “The drive involving children aims to make
environment green and safe. We intend to create awareness among
people, especially children, about the fact that trees play an
important role in eliminating environmental pollution.”

The programme will be extended to other parts of the state in the near
future where mass plantation will be conducted, the leaders added.

Senior leaders of BMS Littu Routray, Prakash Kumar Mallick, Sidhant
Acharya, Saroj Jena, Madhusudan Nayak and Sunil Kumar Behera
coordinated the programme.

BMS have been conducting various social activities including
distribution of relief materials among flood victims, blood donation,
plantation, women empowerment, welfare of slum dwellers, swachh bharat
abhiyan and cleanliness drives in different parts of the city for last
five years.
