Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Shinde group) leader Rajesh Shah, whose son allegedly drove a BMW into a two-wheeler and killed a 45-year-old woman, was on Monday granted bail by a Mumbai court on a bond of Rs 15,000.
Rajesh’s son Mihir Shah is the main accused in the case and still on the run.
Pradip Nakhva, a fisherman, and his wife Kaveri Nakhva were returning after picking up fish Sassoon Dock on Sunday morning when their scooter was hit from behind by the speeding SUV.
Kaveri succumbed to her injuries after being taken to a hospital.
The car, registered in the name of the politician, was allegedly being driven by 24-year-old Mihir when the accident took place.
Mihir fled the scene, but Rajesh’s driver Rajrishi Bidawat — who was present in the car at the time of the accident — was arrested.
