Malkangiri: As many as 120 tourists had a close brush with death when a boat in which they were travelling caught fire in Malkangiri on Thursday.
They had boarded the boat for the famous tourism spot, ‘Papikundulum’, at Rajahmahendri in Andhra Pradesh.
As soon as the fire rose, the driver steered the boat to a nearby landmass and it came to a standstill.
Although the reason of the mishap is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected to have been triggered from a gas cylinder kept in the boat.
