Balasore: A fishing boat caught fire on Monday at Naupalgadi of Balaramgadi fishing harbour under Balaramgadi marine police limits in Balasore district.
The reason behind the fire mishap was yet to be ascertained. Sources said it was suspected that the fire spread from a LPG cylinder and set the boat ablaze. Some fishermen tried to put off the fire, but in vain.
“Some people were on the boat but no loss of life was reported,” said inspector-in-charge of Balaramgadi marine police station Chitta Ranjan Nayak.
Two other boats were anchored near the ill-fated vessel.
