Bhubaneswar: As many as 60 passengers were stranded after a boat ferrying them got stuck in Chilika Lake in Odisha’s Puri district due to a technical snag on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources, the motorised boat, which was also carrying 40 two-wheelers, was en route to Satapada from Janhikuda in Krushnaprasad block and developed a technical snag just 1 km away from Janhikuda after leaving the jetty at 1 pm.
Efforts are on by locals to get it to the shore by tethering it to other boats.
Notably, boat is the only way for the locals to get to Krushnaprasad block with 96 villages.
