Bhubaneswar: A patrolling boat of Odisha’s Forest department with four officials has reportedly been stranded in Chilika lake following some technical glitch.
According to sources, the boat has been stuck in the middle of the lake for more than two hours after it developed some technical snag.
The Forest department officials had left for undertaking patrolling as part of the drive to ensure effective protection of the dolphins in the sprawling lake.
While undertaking the routine patrolling, the Forest department personnel got stuck as the boat carrying them developed a snag midway.
After getting information about the incident, the authorities have launched a rescue operation to bring back the Forest officials safely. A rescue boat is reportedly being sent into the lake as part of the operation, sources said.
