Balasore: Body of one of the six persons, who went missing after two boats capsized in sea at Jaleswar area in Balasore district on Sunday morning, was retrieved from the deep waters following a three-hour-long operation by fire and police personnel.
The body was recovered from Kankadpala ghati under Baliapal block in the district.
Later, another person swam ashore and was rescued safely. Four persons are still untraceable.
At least six persons went missing after two boats in which they were travelling capsized in sea this morning.
According to sources, as many as 17 fishermen from Kirtania jetty in Bhograi had ventured into the deep waters for fishing in two separate boats. Both the boats capsized due to bad weather and strong winds.
Eleven among them somehow managed to swim back to safety.
“It is unfortunate that they went fishing despite being cautioned by the meteorological department about rough sea conditions,” a local resident said.
