Bastar: Bodies of 17 security personnel, who went missing after a gun battle with Maoists in Bastar division of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh last evening, were found on Sunday.
The 150-member search party comprising para-military CRPF, its elite commando wing CoBRA battalion, special task force and District Reserve Guards located the bodied after combing the forests around Chintagufa, media reports said.
Sukma SP Shalabh Sinha had earlier to the media that 14 jawans injured in the encounter with between CPI (Maoist) near Korjaguda hills during an area domination exercise were airlifted to Raipur last night. “No casualty reported yet. We are looking out for the missing 17,” he had said.
