Berhampur: Bodies of two brothers were found in a pond inside a park in Odisha’s Berhampur town on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as K Ranga Achari and K Janardhan Achari of Bada Bazaar area.
According to sources, the staff of Biju Patnaik Park spotted two bodies floating in the pond inside the park this morning and informed police, which recovered thoses from the waterbody and sent them for postmortem.
It is being alleged that the two brother left their house around 3 pm on Monday after a fight over their drinking habit. They had earlier threatened to committed suicide if stopped from consuming alcohol, the sources further said.
Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain when the Achari brothers sneaked into the park and the circumstances under which they drowned in the pond.
