Cuttack: Bodies of two youths were recovered near Gate No. 1 of Birupa Barrage at Choudwar in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Thursday morning.
According to sources, fishermen spotted the bodies floating in the waters and alerted Choudwar police. Soon, firefighters also arrived at the spot and retrieved the bodies, which were then sent for postmortem. The deceased are suspected to be Debashish Sahu and Shubhashish Sahu, residents of the Mandapada area in Choudwar. The two brothers were reportedly missing for the past two days and their bike was earlier seized from the barrage.
Police have begun an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
