Dhenkanal: The body of a forest guard was found hanging in Gadasila beat house in Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
The family members of the deceased, identified as Tapan Das, have alleged he committed suicide as he was under mental stress after being harassed by some senior officials. A police complaint has also been lodged by the family.
However, locals suspect the involvement of timber mafia behind the forest official’s death.
Police have seized the body and started investigation.
