Bhubaneswar: Body of the female doctor, recovered from a well at Jharpada under Laxmisagar police limits here, was sent for post-mortem to Capital Hospital on Tuesday.
The body was fished out of the well the previous evening.
The deceased, identified as Sanghamitra Mishra (49), was working as a medical practitioner in Nimapara town of Puri district. Since her divorce in 2006, she had been staying with her father and brother.
Family sources said she was mentally disturbed and had not joined duty since 2014.
On Monday, Sanghamitra left the house without informing her brother and father. After failing to trace her, the family members informed police.
During the search, police found a pair of sandals near a well close to Ganesh temple. Her body was later found floating in the well.
The post-mortem report will reveal the nature of her death, police said.
