Cuttack: Body of a constable was fished out of a pond on the premises of sixth battalion in Cuttack on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as M. Krishna Rao, a resident of Parlakhemundi in Gajapati district. He was working as a band constable in the battalion.
According to available information, Rao had gone missing after he leaving home on Tuesday. His family members searched for him everywhere, but couldn’t locate him.
Rao’s body was spotted floating in the water body by some morning walkers, who immediately informed police. A team of ODRAF officials reached the spot and fished out the body.
The reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained. The body has been sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for autopsy.
