Body Of Missing Man Found, Accused Held

Nabarangpur: Police arrested one Prasanta Kumar Sahoo in connection with a murder case after body of the deceased was recovered from Beheraguda check gate dam in the district.

The other accused, Babula Mishra, is absconding.

According to police sources, the deceased, identified as Ganesh Kumar Majhi, was a resident of Patramunda village of the district. His wife Pranita Majhi had lodged a missing complaint on August 12. She had named Sahoo and Mishra, suspecting their involvement, in the FIR.

On the basis of the complaint, police conducted raids at Patramunda, Chutiaguda and Khanduguda villages, but failed to trace him.

On August 15 at around 2 pm, one Jaysore Majhi came across the body and identified it. Police retrieved the body from Beheraguda check gate dam and sent it for postmortem the following day. The motorcycle of the deceased was found inside the well of the dam connecting Kusumjhar canal.

During the course of investigation, Sahoo confessed to have committed the murder along Mishra of Rajoda village under Kosagumuda police limits, the sources added.
