Body Of Half-Burnt Youth Found From River Bank Identified

Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday identified and revealed the name of a youth whose half-burnt body was found near Kuakhai Bridge here.

The victim, Unmakta Padhi, a resident of BJB Nagar in Bhubaneswar, had come to his house before a couple of months, after quitting his job at Kolkata. However, it is suspected that Padhi was abducted and murdered by a group of people in a pre-planned manner. Later, the miscreants set the body on fire to destroy evidence, a police officer added.

The police have started looking into the possibility of involvement of more persons in the murder case.

On Wednesday, Mancheswar police recovered the body after being alerted by some locals of the area. A knife stuck in the body, one laptop and a pair of women footwear was seized from the spot.
