Addressing mediapersons outside the airport, Bommai thanked the Central government for its efforts to bring back the body.
The CM said that bringing back Naveen’s remains was a Herculean task and that they were initially not sure if it would be possible to do so from a war zone.
The 21-year-old Naveen, a fourth-year student at Kharkiv National Medical University, had stepped out to buy food when he was killed in Russian shelling.
Bommai has given a cheque of ₹25 lakh to the family of Naveen and assured a job to a family member.
