Jajpur: Body of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, who had been missing since Monday, was found hanging on a hill in Dhanamandal area of Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The CRPF jawan, identified as Suryakant Kuanr of Jagatsinghpur district, was posted in Chhattisgarh. Sources said his body was found hanging from a tree on a hill, three days after he went missing from his home district.
Kuanr’s motorcycle was earlier recovered near the hill under the jurisdiction of Badachana police station following which a search had been launched in the area.
A team of police personnel along with scientific staff rushed to the site and recovered the body. Police launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances in which the incident took place. The body was sent for postmortem.
The jawan had come home on leave to attend the last rites of his grandmother and efforts were made to trace him following his disappearance. After waiting for a day, his wife had lodged a complaint at Ersama police station.
