Rourkela: Two days after an employee of NIT-Rourkela went missing after falling into a waterfall, his body was recovered from Gurundia area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Tuesday.
The body of Jay Krushna Sahoo was recovered after search operation by the personnel of ODRAF fire services since the incident took place on Sunday, sources said.
The body has been sent by Gurundia police Bonai Sub-Divisional Hospital for postmortem.
The incident occurred when four people, including Sahoo who hailed from Balita village under Barkot area of Deogarh district, had visited Badalgiri waterfall at Gurundia in Sundargarh district on Sunday. While taking a bath, Sahoo slipped and went missing after falling into deep water.
Efforts by his friends to trace him failed to yield result. They informed the police following which a team of ODRAF and fire services had launched a search operation and the body was recovered today.
