Cuttack: The ODRF and Fire Service personnel on Thursday recovered the body of a Plus II student of Christ College near Jobra barrage of the Mahanadi.
The deceased, identified as Tusharkant Sahu, went missing on the night of August 2.
As he did not return home, his parents had lodged a complaint in the Cantonment police station on August 3, alleging that a former boyfriend of his son’s girlfriend had kidnapped him.
Acting on his complaint, police began a search operation and found his motorcycle near Dhabaleswar Ghat of Mahanadi this morning.
Suspecting that the boy might have been killed and thrown into the river, a search operation was launched in the river with the help of Fire Service and ODRAF personnel, who finally recovered the body at the Jobra barrage.
Earlier, police went to the house of the former boyfriend but could not find him.
Efforts are on to trace him, police said.
