Body Of Youth Found Floating In Canal In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: The body of a youth was found floating in a canal under mysterious circumstances in Binjharpur area of Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday.

Locals spotted the body floated in the canal behind Singhapur Kharasorta Mahavidalaya under Binjharpur police limits this morning.

The deceased was identified as Priyaranjan Dhal of Olei village under Chandanpur panchayat. He reportedly worked as a driver.

According to sources, some villagers who were on their way to the canal, spotted a body. It was tied with a rope to a tree. They informed the police about the incident.

A team of police personnel from Binjharpur reached the spot and have started a probe into the incident.

Family members of the deceased alleged that Priyaranjan was murdered and his body thrown into the canal by some miscreants.
