Bhubaneswar: Fire Services personnel on Friday fished out the body of a youth, who allegedly drowned in Puri Canal near Hanspal on Bhubaneswar outskirts while taking a bath the previous day.
The victim has been identified Soumya Ranjan Das (24), a resident of Jagatsinghpur district.
According to sources, the Fire Service personnel had failed to locate him even after a 2-hour search last evening. The search operation had to be stopped for the night and was resumed again this morning.
Police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem. An investigation is also underway to circumstances leading to his death.
