Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre Behl has been diagnosed with cancer.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the actress of ‘Sarfarosh’ fame said that it is a high-grade cancer that has metastasised. She described the diagnosis as ‘unexpected’.
She wrote: A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.
Sonali, 43, is currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. She was last seen judging a reality show.
She is married to filmmaker Goldie Behl and the couple have a son.
