Mumbai: The brother-in-law of choreographer and filmmaker Remo D’Souza, Jason Watkins, was found dead at his Millat Nagar residence in Mumbai on Thursday, a cop said.

The police officer said Watkins was found hanging by his parents after they came back home. He allegedly died by suicide.

The 42-year-old was apparently facing some health issues which may have driven him to take the extreme step, the police officer said. No suicide note though was found from the spot.

At the time of the incident, Watkins was alone in his flat according to the initial probe. His parents had gone out to buy medicines and they found him hanging from the ceiling on return, said the official.

According to the official, his parents alerted the police and Watkins was rushed to a nearby medical facility where he was declared dead before admission.

Oshiwara police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the case on the basis of primary information as nothing suspicious was found.
