Bollywood Legend Dilip Kumar Passes Away At 98

New Delhi: Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar passed away in Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital early on Wednesday. He was 98.

Dilip Kumar was taken to hospital after he complained of breathlessness. This was the second time the veteran actor had been hospitalised in the same month.

A tweet by family friend Faisal Farooqui from the actor’s official handle read: “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip saab a few minutes ago. We are from God and to him we return.”

The actor was first rushed to hospital on June 6 and was put on oxygen support. He was discharged from the hospital on June 11.

Dilip Kumar had not been keeping well over the last few years with various illnesses like kidney ailment to pneumonia. The actor spent his 94th birthday a few years ago in hospital where he was under treatment for fever and a swollen leg. The nonagenarian actor, who would have been 99 in December, is survived by wife of over 50 years, Saira Banu.
