Bollywood Singer Abhijeet Renders Voice For Anthem Ahead Of Hockey World Cup In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, a hockey anthem – ‘Ek Naye Kahani Likhi Hai Odisha’ – has been prepared by acclaimed writer, composer and director Santosh Panda, while Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has rendered his voice for the song.

While it was produced under the banner The Premier Media and Eastern Bay, Hockey India president Dillip Tirkey has given a hockey stick to Panda after listening to the song.

The Hockey World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13 to 29.

Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal while releasing the poster and promo of the song has also had high praise for the lyrics and tune of the song too. He has congratulated the team through his tweet.

While recording the song in Mumbai, singer Abhijeet Bhatcharya appreciated the lyrics and tune of the song and said it really glorifies Odisha’s contribution to sports, mainly hockey, a press release said.

Prince Dance Group, Sai International School , Mother’s Public School performed in this song. Shooting was done at Kalinga Stadium, KIIT Stadium and various locations of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela. Stock footage and match clipping of Sports and youth services department has been used for the song too.

A press conference cum full video release was held at Press Club of Odisha on Monday in the presence Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das, Chairman Khadi Board Sangram Paikaray, noted dramatist and poet Ramakanta Mishra and senior sports journalist Sambit Mohapatra.  

During the event, it was informed that the song will be shortly available in YouTube and three best dancers who danced to the tune of the the song will be awarded at a state level event later.

“The song would reach out to many and people would recognise the efforts of Odisha towards promoting sports and hockey in particular,” said Santosh Panda.
