Bhubaneswar: The season’s first edition of popular street event, Patha Utsav or Raahgiri, took off in Odisha capital in a grand way on Sunday.
An estimated 15,000 people thronged the Janpath stretch from Master Canteen square to Ra Mandit square, the venue of the street festival, in the morning. The show continued till 9.30 am with residents of the city, mostly youngsters turning up to enjoy the festival.

The star attraction was the performances of Bollywood playback singer Nikhita Gandhi, rapper Big Deal, the Prince Dance Group and Odissi dancers. While the youngsters were found dancing to the numbers belted out by Nikhita and the steps of the Prince Dance Group, others sat back and enjoyed the classical Odissi dance.
As per BMC’s decision, next editions of Patha Utsav will be held in Ekamra and Patia on January 7 and January 21 in New Tear respectively.
