Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting and reviewed the situation following hoax bomb scares in various parts of the state.
During the meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, officials confirmed all threats were hoax messages, and agencies like the Bomb Detection Squad and Quick Reaction Team promptly investigated the incid
ents.
The Chief Minister directed the police to issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and strengthen bomb squads with modern training. “We have skilled forces; let us make them even more skilled,” he said.
While holding a thorough discussion on the matter with senior officials, including the Chief Secretary and DGP, Majhi directed immediate action. Deputy CM KV Singh Deo and top officials attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister assured there is no reason to panic but emphasised the need for preparedness for future threats.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM Saswata Mishra, DGP Y.B. Khurania, and Director (Intelligence) R.P. Koche.
