Lucknow: An IndiGo flight travelling from Lucknow to Dammam in Saudi Arabia had to make an emergency landing at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday evening.
What forced the emergency landing was the mid-air discovery of a tissue paper with the word ‘BOMB’ written on it.
The aircraft landed at Ahmedabad airport at around 5.55 pm, with 133 people, including pilots and crew members, on board.
All passengers and crew were safely deboarded at Ahmedabad.
Police, airport security personnel, fire services team, bomb squad and other agencies are investigating the incident.
According to officials, handwriting samples are being collected from all passengers, have been asked to write on tissue paper so that the writing can be compared with the note carrying the bomb message.
This is the second emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport in 10 days.
