Bombay High Court To Hear Rhea Chakraborty’s Bail Plea On This Date

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court will hear bail petitions of actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik on Tuesday (September 29), NDTV reported.

The hearing was rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday due to heavy rain in the city.

The duo was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau earlier this month in connection with drug abuse allegations related to the Sushant Singh Rajput death investigation. They have been remanded to judicial custody till October 6.

Rhea was described by the agency as “an active member of a drug syndicate”.

The actor, however, maintained that she was innocent and had been falsely implicated. She also claimed that she was coerced into making incriminatory confessions and that the statement was retracted on September 8 itself.

In her bail plea, Rhea said that Sushant Singh Rajput used her, her brother Showik and members of his household staff to facilitate his own drug habit while ensuring that he did not leave a paper trail of his own in the form of any electronic evidence whatsoever.

Rhea also alleged that no female officer was present during her interrogation by the NCB. She also denied having named Shraddha Kapoor or Sara Ali Khan.
