Dhenkanal: Bombs were hurled at the residence of Jayanti Patra, the newly elected chairperson of Dhenkanal municipality, here late Saturday night.
“We were asleep when miscreants hurled bombs at the main gate. CCTV footage shows it took place around 1.40 am. We suspect our political rivals behind this,” she said.
This is the second time the BJP leader’s house has been targeted. On March 30 night, she had alleged that shots were fired in front of her house and that she also received death threats.
Police visited her house after Saturday night’s incident. The gate and some vehicles have been partly damaged. No one was injured in the incident. Jayanti sought police protection for her family members.
